Stickl Yachts History
We build electric pleasure boats, but how did we come to this decision? Why did we embark on this journey? Many ask these questions, so we have briefly summarized what has happened recently.
2004
START OF TRADING WITH SAILBOATS
At that time, we had been sailing for 6 years and were looking for a ship that would offer a solution to several needs. A sailboat that can be taken to different waters and can even be used as a motor yacht. We found a special boat; others also liked it, so we started selling the Odin 820 sailboat, which was already successful in its first year.
2006
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE SAILBOATS IS SO SUCCESSFUL THAT MANUFACTURERS INVOLVED US IN THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
Róbert Stickl started to develop the ships to his liking, taking advantage of his automotive training and the background of a modern workshop.
2008
INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FIRST IN SAILBOATS, THEN IN MOTORBOATS
Again, based on our own needs, the development began in such a direction that the sailing boat could be used quietly and legally for hours, even in windless weather. Many ship owners and manufacturers also liked the construction and asked us to install the system in their own ships.
2010
THE FIRST STICKL ELECTRIC BOATS ARE COMPLETED, IN COOPERATION AT THE TIME
In connection with the installation of electrical systems in different motor boats, we have faced the different, often extremely unfavorable behavior of different hulls with electric propulsion. That is why we have decided to build a hull that is both practical and provides favorable driving characteristics. (Eg: travel time, stability.)
2010
LAUNCH OF EXPORTS TO AUSTRIA AND GERMANY
In the years hit by the economic crisis, we felt that it was more appropriate to enter the Austrian and German markets to ensure stable production.
2011
LET'S START DESIGNING OUR FIRST FULLY OWN-DEVELOPED ELECTRIC VESSEL
As a result of the tests abroad, we gained a lot of experience. Since they have been using electric boats there for decades, those interested have set much higher expectations. They inspired us to develop, a hull fully optimized for electric sailing like Austrian manufacturers did.
2012
THE FIRST E-VOLUTION ELECTRIC YACHT IS COMPLETED
The prototype attracted such interest that 7 orders were received in the first summer, of which 6 came from Austria and Germany.
2014
COMPREHENSIVE RENEWAL OF THE E-VOLUTION 620, THE BIRTH OF THE FIRST E-VOLUTION 660
At that time, production was still 90% dominated by export, which encouraged us to further develop the ship.
2014
PRODUCTION OF THE E-MOTION 600 STARTS
The E-volution was too large for many Austrian lakes, given the size of the protected boathouses built decades ago. That’s why we developed a little brother of E-volution. We tried to keep as many benefits as possible and “take away” as little as possible from comfort.
2015
OUR SHOWROOM AND TEST BOAT PORT IN GÁRDONY IS COMPLETED
The market has reaffirmed that the benefits of our boats can only be well illustrated on the water, but there they are so conspicuous that they almost sell themselves. That’s why we’ve created a small harbor a few steps from the showroom where all of our models can be tested.
2017
INTRODUCING THE E-XCELLENCE 820 - THE FASTEST CABIN ELECTRIC SHIP IN EUROPE
Thanks to the encouragement of E-volution owners, we’ve developed a “big brother” that can do multi-day rides while top speed has been increased further.
2019
THE 100TH E-VOLUTION ELECTRIC BOAT IS COMPLETED. ITS HAPPY OWNER AWAITS IT IN AUSTRIA
The introduction of newer models has never pushed back demand for E-volution…
2020
E-SPIRIT 730 IS INTRODUCED AT THE BUDAPEST BOAT SHOW AND THEN IN TULLN, AUSTRIA
There has been a serious customer demand for a model between E-volution and E-xcellence, which is a large E-volution but based on state-of-the-art technology from E-xcellence (Vacuum infusion hull, engine power over 40 kW). This time we didn't want to do much, so we also significantly innovated in terms of design and comfort…
2020
WE START USING OUR BRAND NEW, MODERN PRODUCTION HALL IN GÁRDONY-DINNYÉS
The growing production numbers necessitated the construction of a modern plant worthy of our ships. Computer-controlled manufacturing technology and a test pool with bridge crane complete the manufacturing process.
2021
COMPREHENSIVE UPDATE OF THE E-MOTION, MANUFACTURED AS E-MOTION 610 IN THE FUTURE
Despite the unbroken interest - similarly to the E-volution - after a while we felt that so many new ideas had come together that it's time to significantly modernize the smallest ship.
2021
THE 50TH E-MOTION ELECTRIC BOAT IS COMPLETED
The development was not in vain this time either, the enthusiasm for our smallest electric yacht continues to grow.
Milestones in our history
1990
Founding the Stickl Kft.
The founder, Róbert Stickl, started the company by designing and manufacturing custom trailers, and then expanded the company with car dealerships.
2004
Launch of the company's marine business
The love of sailing encouraged the founding manager and his son, Tamás, to find and further develop special ships.
2008
Presentation of self-developed electrical system and electro-sailer
We started developing “Electro-sailer”. Full Value Electric Yacht and Comfortable Cruise at the Same Time? He succeded!
2008-2012
Electrical conversion of motor vessels
Since 2008, we have been equipped with dozens of motor boats with electric motors and battery systems. There was a lot of experience, we always tried to optimize the driving performance.
2010
First arrival of electric ships
Based on our experience, we started to develop a family of ships with more favorable voyage characteristics - at that time by modifying hulls, in cooperation with manufacturers.
2012
Introducing the E-volution
To encourage Austrian and German customers, we designed a revolutionary new ship. Modern semi-gliding body shape with the usual wave protection and comfort of motor boats.
2015
The showroom in Agárd is completed
In Hungary, it is difficult to understand the difference between a ship equipped with an electric motor and a ship designed to be electric. That’s why we’ve created a waterfront showroom and showcase where the boats sell themselves. It was the result!
2020
The new factory unit is completed
Near Lake Venice, we have also set up a serious and modern factory on a European scale. Here, the development of the ships and their inspection in the pre-handover test basin were also solved.
